detailed Bio

30 years helping organisations and the people inside them see further than they could on their own. Chad has operated at the frontier of fields before they had established names: the internet, digital consumer behaviour, mobile marketing, consent management, privacy experience, and AI governance.

His career spans WPP's Henley Centre (where he led foresight on whether the internet would amount to anything), Yahoo!, AOL, ITV, Vodafone, and co-founding Privacy Experience Agency in 2019. His first client, Meta, came before the company formally opened, based on a clear and unusual proposition: that privacy is a customer experience problem, not a legal one.

Why This Matters:

People rarely come to a mentor with a shortage of information. They come with a problem they can't quite see the shape of, a decision they keep circling without landing, or a situation they understand but don't know what to do with. The value of a good mentoring conversation is not the answer, it is the question that unlocks the thinking.

What He Brings:

  • Deep Listening: Chad listens before he speaks and notices things others miss. His thinking is cross-disciplinary and pattern-seeking, drawing connections between ideas across sectors, timeframes, and fields that don't usually talk to each other.
  • Genuine Curiosity: His first interest is you, not your problem. That curiosity creates the conditions in which real thinking can happen, people often feel properly heard for the first time on a particular issue.
  • Comfort with Complexity: You can bring unfinished thinking, contradictory instincts, or situations you haven't been able to name yet. He is comfortable sitting in the middle of a hard problem for as long as it takes.
  • Careful Challenge: Chad will challenge you constructively. He won't simply agree to keep the conversation comfortable, but he will disagree in a way that is worth something.
  • Frontier Experience: From building foresight into commercial decision-making to advising the most scrutinised digital platforms in Europe on privacy and ethics, Chad operates where legal obligation meets human reality and commercial imperative.

who should work with me

Circling a Decision You Can't Quite Land You have the information, but something doesn't feel resolved. You need someone who can help you see what the real question is, not just the one you're asking.

Navigating Career Complexity Career progression, difficult relationships, office politics, managing upward, organisational change—the human texture of professional life that rarely gets addressed directly but shapes everything.

Building Something New Inside a Resistant System Getting a genuinely new idea, team, function, or way of working off the ground inside an existing institution. You need someone who's done it and knows what the early stages feel like.

Grappling with Ethics, Privacy, or AI Governance When the questions are about what is right, not just what is legal or possible. You need someone who thinks about ethics as a design problem, not a compliance exercise.

Facing Genuinely Uncertain Territory Wicked problems, future thinking, situations where the answer isn't yet knowable. You need a way of thinking, not a solution—someone comfortable where most conversations run out of road.

You're NOT a fit if:

  • You want quick answers or prescriptive solutions
  • You're looking for technical implementation advice
  • You need someone to tell you what to do rather than help you think it through
  • You're uncomfortable with ambiguity or unfinished thinking
how can we work together

Strategic Problem Framing When you can't quite see the shape of the problem, or you keep circling without landing. Chad helps surface the real question underneath the one you're asking, creating clarity that unlocks better thinking and decisions.

Career Navigation & Leadership Development Navigating the human texture of professional life: career progression, difficult relationships, office politics, managing upward, organisational change. Guidance grounded in 30 years across corporations, startups, and independent practice.

Privacy Experience & Data Ethics Advisory Strategic guidance on privacy as customer experience, not just compliance. Drawing on work with Europe's most scrutinised platforms to help you navigate where legal obligation meets human reality and commercial imperative.

Innovation & Change Strategy How to frame a new direction, sequence it, and bring people with you. Whether you're building something new inside an existing organisation or charting uncertain territory, Chad understands what works and what quietly fails.

AI Governance & Responsible Technology When the questions are about what is right, not just what is possible. Ethics as a design problem, not a compliance exercise. Strategic thinking for organisations grappling with AI deployment, governance frameworks, and human consequence.

Future Thinking & Wicked Problems When the situation is genuinely uncertain and the answer isn't yet knowable. Chad brings 30 years of building foresight into commercial and strategic decision-making, comfortable in territory where most conversations run out of road.
